Some people realize they have childhood trauma prior to becoming parents. Sometimes people don't even realize they have childhood trauma until they become parents themselves. Laura Bruce, Founder and Director of Mi Casa Es Tu Casa®, joins Ciarra and Samantha on this episode to discuss this topic as well as the program she has created to help parents navigate this experience with their own children. 
Laura was born and raised in Venezuela where she earned her degree in clinical psychology. This background, and her love of music, led her to create a program specifically designed to facilitate language acquisition (Spanish & American Sign Language), social skills, early childhood development, emotional intelligence, musical development, and conscious parenting. 
She does creative work and sings on all five of the musical collections produced by Mi Casa Es Tu Casa®, 2 of their public albums have been nominated to the Latin Grammys (2021, 2022) for Best Latin Children’s Album.

Dr. Katie Kennedy, a mom of two and a Board-Certified Pediatric Specialist in Physical Therapy. As co-founder of Strive Pediatrics, Dr. Katie is passionate about empowering parents with the knowledge and tools to support their child's journey.
With over 10 years of experience in leading children's hospitals, including a level IV NICU, Katie has worked with a wide range of children, from those with complex medical needs to typically developing babies. This diverse experience, spanning both inpatient and outpatient settings, gives her a deep understanding of the unique challenges and joys of navigating early childhood.
Dr. Katie's expertise extends beyond traditional pediatric physical therapy. She is trained in the Gillespie Approach Craniosacral Fascial Therapy (CFT), a gentle, hands-on technique that addresses restrictions within the body. She is also specially trained in Tethered Oral Tissues (TOTs) and is certified in both Neonatal Touch and Massage, and Infant Massage.
As a mom herself, Dr. Katie understands the challenges of motherhood firsthand. She knows how overwhelming it can feel when your baby struggles with feeding, sleep, or simply feeling comfortable in their own body. That's why she's dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based care that supports the whole child and empowers families to thrive.
Dr. Katie and her team of Physical and Occupational therapists provide Craniosacral Fascial therapy (CFT) for all family members and provide therapy services for (0-10). Her team specializes in caring for children with diverse conditions, including torticollis, flat head, oral ties, breastfeeding challenges, developmental delay, NICU grads, and medically complex children.

Austin State University in 2002.  Dr. Allie is a 2006 graduate of Parker College of Chiropractic and received her Diplomate of Chiropractic Acupuncture from the American Academy of Chiropractic Acupuncture that same year. She received her Board Certification in Chiropractic Acupuncture in 2010 from the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners. Dr. Allie takes joy in caring for all people in all stages of their lives with a preventative approach to healthcare, however, she specializes in pregnancy care and children.

Carley Pearson is a DONA certified labor doula and lifestyle photographer who specializes in maternity, birth, and newborn photography. She grew up a total river rat in New Braunfels, Texas and moved to Austin in 2008 to attend the University of Texas and hasn't left since! Friends describe her as warm, bubbly, and rock solid. She takes her role as a doula very seriously and feels it is the greatest honor being invited into someone's birth space.
